Following in the footsteps of the prophets
Where: Jerusalem.
Duration: 1 days
What to bring: High-topped shoes, hat, sunscreen, water
Language: The tour is originally in English.
In the history of the world, the biblical prophets hold a supreme status. These people, who were exemplary figures, clear-minded, went against the tide, free thinkers, have always fascinated us. These were the true ideologues.
Who were Moshe? Elijah? Jeremiah imprisoned in the pit? Isaiah the universal prophet? Zechariah ? And more. Time is too short to describe these people, their deeds, their beliefs etched in the hearts of each of us sometimes without our being aware of it. We can, however, talk about the values they have instilled, and we will visit a few of the places where they worked to feel a little bit of closeness to them.
Activities
On this tour I will also share philosophical content of the teachings of spiritual giants such as Martin Buber, Aristotle, Spinoza, Maimonides, Nietzsche and others.
This is not a one-day journey, it is a serious journey into the heart of biblical culture, to the values of the world that guide us in our lives.
Where will we visit? Of course, in Jerusalem in the City of David; at the end of the days of Jerusalem during the First Temple period, a moment before its surrender to the Babylonians, Jeremiah, the prophet of destruction, was thrown into a dark pit full of clay, in an attempt to silence him Yet from the depths of the pit, the prophet continued to spread the message of surrender. We will stand near the wall where Rabshakeh stood and Isaiah's prophecy, "... and my condemnation of this city to save it ..." From there we will continue to the Judean Desert and visit the site of Elijah at Nahal Prat, and continue to Nabi Musa (Is this really the place of Moses' grave?) , Nabi Samwil Samuel's Tomb, the Mount of Olives, Mount Carmel, the Jezreel Valley, and we will visit the coastal plain and sit under one of the sycamore trees that connect us to the prophet Amos and his fascinating story.
Isaiah Chapter - And it shall be at the end of the days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be firmly established at the top of the mountains, and it shall be raised above the hills, and all the nations shall stream to it. And many peoples shall go, and they shall say, "Come, let us go up to the Lord's mount, to the house of the God of Jacob, and let Him teach us of His ways, and we will go in His paths," for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge between the nations and reprove many peoples, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift the sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
